  • Second time with this vintage, but I have to apologize with Elisabetta Dalzocchio, because yesterday I popped this bottle after a 1986 Chateau Rausan-Segla!!
Of course There is no point and no game in comparing each other!!
Poor baby...anyway a good feminine north east Italian Pinot, fresh, fruity and creamy.
There is all you can ask from a young Pinot, but lacking everything you need to remember it!!

  • Brilliant warm-red hue with some bricking. Complex, captivating nose with interesting development and several leads to follow: here's undergrowth, wet leaves, rusty iron, sweaty bedsheets, fish sauce, tulip water, and more. The fruit is mostly reminiscent of redcurrants with hints of orange juice, rowanberries and dried cranberries. Tastewise it is tight and slender with high, focused acidity. The midpalate has nice intensity with high-toned red-fruity aromas, good minerality, obvious complexity, and grippy tannins that are slightly dry and herbaceous. Leaves the mouth cleansed, ready for another sip. This is a cool-climate pinot that has the qualities of providing food for thought as well as being food-friendly. Opens up and drinks well after an hour in the carafe. We'll be more than happy to follow Elisabetta Dalzocchio's small-scale pinot nero property in the future.

Elisabetta Dalzocchio farms two hectares of pinot noir in pre-alpine vineyards above Rovereto, Trentino. Her farming method is organic with biodynamic practise, and she harvests less than 40 hl/ha. The wine-making philosophy is non-interventionist, with 18 months of elevage in used barriques. 13% ABV. 160 dkk/Cibi e Vini.
