This is a solid but not groundbreaking Auslese. There’s a good amount of plastic along with pineapple and grannysmith apple. The finish has a ton of acidity but it feels like it’s in a really good place right now. It’s acidic enough to keep me wanting more, but not so much that it’s stripping my mouth of enamel.
This is probably at its peak right now. Good, but not great for $35/375mL.

Surprisingly exotic on the nose. Clear honey, apricot and sweet notes. Good structure. Very fresh even though sweet. Works well with quite strong cheeses such as blue cheese.

Clean, developing nose with a medium(+) intensity. There are well-defined aromas of dried apricot, honey and toffee, complemented by subtle beeswax notes. The dried fruit and toffee notes are an indication of botrytis. There are no indications of oak.
The wine is medium-sweet with medium(+) acidity, medium body, and low alcohol. The flavours have a medium(+) intensity and follow the nose with notes of dried apricot, honey and toffee. The beeswax note complements the mouth coating sweetness very well. The finish has a medium length. There is no evidence that oak was used.
This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have an impressive balance with the acidity, sweetness, and the alcohol. The sweetness provides an interesting textural dimension that is complemented by the flavour profile. The wine has an enjoyable finish with a good length.
The wine drinks well now, but has potential for further ageing.
