Round, plush, ripe red and black fruits, simple, fruit forward but delicious Oakville Merlot, tannins only at the finish - blink and you'll miss it. Low acid, full bodied, lacks structure, goes down smooth and easy with long, alluring finish. Difficult to resist despite flaws.

Deep dark red, opaque. Heady nose of cocktail cherry, black currant, raspberry, blackberry, plum. This tastes somewhat genericslly of plum sauce and herbs, with blackberry compote and A nice poopy-espresso note here that is somewhat unique, lacking in elegance and oak influenced flavors. Not a lot going on that would distinguish this. Certainly has some tannic grip, a peak with valleys of flavor in-between. This Oakville merlot is a bit wimpy, IMHO. Has some classic Napa notes of currant and cherries. Tastes like it sat in neutral oak, ugh. Still, nicer than some at the same price point. Better with a bit of time!

Meat, juicy, dense, consumed alongside baby back ribs and porcini risotto. Definitely drinkable, but needs to be consumed soon.

Cameron Hughes Tasting (Colonial Beverage, Chesterland Ohio): Not a lot of difference between this and the Lot 335. Both are fine wines. They both have nice cherry notes. Nothing that exciting either. $18.
