Vin robe jaune dorée. Arômes d’hydrocarbure, abricot, pêche, noisette et mangue mûre. Au aurait dit un riesling avec ces arômes de pétrole. Vin entre un vin doux et vin liquoreux. Belle complexité.

A wonderful discovery after decades of knowing only the Vendage Tardives from Zind Humbrecht and others. Lighter in tone, full of hints of ripe scented muscat grapes, gooseberries, carillon melon and Alsatian stone and acids. Not as rich as one might expect but that Is part of its charm. Age will certainly bring forth more.

29th Birthday Chateauneuf du Pape Tasting (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Pretty bright gold color. Aromas of flowers, lychee, yellow apples and a hint of white tea. Quite rich on the palate, with waves of pear, sweet peach and honey. Sweet, with just enough acid for my tastes (although I'd prefer a bit more). Honey and almond linger with mineral note on the finish.

Apricots, honey, flowers on the nose. Good concentration, very intense, just enough acidity, lots of honeyed fruit. Really great length. 91-92+
