Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Château de Meursault): Small glass, brief note. Magnum brought by Alex. Floral and spice aromas with nicely mature apple. Similar flavors with slightly less spice. Softly textures, very fun right now with moderate weight and depth.

At Brigtsen's with friends. Deep golden, viscous, incipient oxidation, tropical fruit, some stone fruit on finish (apricot peel), not much vitality but not flabby. I assume it's had better days.

Brassy yellow gold color. Ripe pears, green nut skin, mango and spice aromas. Rich and sweet in the mouth but not heavy. Flavors of baked apples, pears, spicecake and a fine mineral underpinning. Good, focusing acids and an elegant veneer of wood finish this off. Very classy bottle but I would drink this near term for its freshness as it has limited depth.

(Gambal Alex Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint Jean) A deep nose overlayed with interesting high tones, hinting at a creamier base. The palate is race-horse lean, with fine texture and good length too. An interesting and quite racy wine.
