Opened alongside the 2011. Popped and poured. More immediately accessible than the 2011. Soft fruit and earth on the nose, on the palate fine, well-integrated acid, very little tannin, pretty classic Russian River notes. The finish is nice and surprisingly long given the softness.
With the bottle open a couple hours the wine becomes quite delicate, and I don’t think it stood up well with the food (as compared to the 2011). This is, however, a great Pinot to open up pre-meal / with snacks, and it was the initial favorite of the group. I will probably drink my remaining 3 bottles within the next year, though I will space it out to see if the note changes at all.

Pop and pour. In the glass, clear reddish-pink at the rim, fading quickly to deep, dark red at the core. On the nose, crushed cherries and baking spice. On the palate, concentrated dark fruit, nutmeg, and forest floor, leaving a saturated impression on the mid-palate, with a moderate level of tannins on a long finish. This wine still has some spine left, and I'm not sure it's done evolving yet - but it's in a very nice place right now, so if you haven't opened one, now is the time.

Ripe red cherry and spice aromas and flavors with silky smooth palate and refreshing acidity on the long finish. Drinking beautifully!
