  Dinner at home of takeout Chinese. Deep ruby color with modest bricking. Nose of blackberries, cassis, tar and anise. On the palate, blackberry jam and tart black cherry on the attack, enhanced by green pepper and earthy undertones on the follow through. Very soft mouthfeel -- tannins fully integrated. Wonderful, mature and flavorful -- a pleasent surprise as an auction lot throw-in. A bit monolithic might be the only quibble, and not a great choice with Chinese, but that's my fault -- couldn't wait any longer to try this one...
