  • Brief decant. Dark ruby/purple color. Fantastic nose of blackberries and black olives with pepper, smoke and earthy notes. Palate bursting with ripe black and red berries, olives, minerals and smoky dried herbs. Ripe resolved tannins and a great finish. Lots to enjoy here!

  • This was quite lovely. Fine tannins. Raspberry, cassis, and meat flavors. Pleasant finish lasting 20 seconds. Very nice bottle with a steak. Not a powerhouse wine but very refined and well-structured. Drink up as I do not foresee it improving from here.

  • Primarily got the cabernet in the blend here (as indicated by the 70% in the mix) with plum and currant notes, some smokiness and fine tannins. No need to wait, drink up.

  • Winery: “K” Charles Smith The Creator
Varietal: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Syrah
    Area/Appellation: Walla Walla Vintage: 2010
Price: $60.00 from my own wine store
    Color: Dark ruby/purpleLegs: Medium
Nose: Blackberries, ash, Truffles, Wet Earth,
After 24 hours under Private Preserve; more Blackberries , engaging white pepper, dark pepper and spice, more leather, black olive, Colombian roast coffee
Palate: more blackberries, ash, tobacco leaf, wet leather, truffles stewed tomatoes. 24 hours under Private Preserve, more Syrah character, still some ash and oak, aged tobacco, currants and a bit of cassis.
Finish: restrained after 24 hours under PrivatenPreserve lots have opened up quite a bit, to offer blackberries, smoke, beef jerky, some currant and black olive,
Comments: for best results come home and open it at noon and decant serve around 8. So a 6-8 hour decant. Will easily go until 2030 under proper cellaring.
