(Decanted and drank over 2-3 hours at Indian-themed dinner at Poppy with Linda, Rachel and Anna). Purple-red with slight bricking on edges. Some funk that blew off within 15 minutes. Nose has Santa Rosa plummy fruit with some cherry coke and a little bit of clove. Medium body with a slightly oily feel. Muted fruit presented a darker fruit sensation than the red-fruit profile of the nose: black cherry, marionberry, even a slight suggestion of black pepper. Not a greatly complex wine. Medium finish. Perhaps a bit less than I expected but Anna and Rachel seemed to love it.

2004 Oregon Pinot retrospective (Lou Rad's): A relatively poor showing, this wine had just flown in (and boy were its arms tired ;-) ), so travel shock may have had something to do with it. Slightly light ruby in color. The nose has some earthy cherries. Soft in texture. Cloyingly sweet on the palate. It got better with air, but never got great.
