  • Delicious bottle of wine. Showed lots of green which I didn’t anticipate from a cab heavy blend. Really enjoyed it.

  • Wine night so we had some great wines to sample, and this one was one of the top ones tasted last night. Dark and aromatic with dark berries. Tannins were still there with some nice grit and finish. Great from the 1st sip, though even after 15 years in the bottle it did not get better but remained constant as we went through the Magnum.

  • Looking for something to pair with our post Thanksgiving turkey and veggies soup...while not a natural choice I made an excuse to check in on this again...:) PnP, drank over 2 hours w/Val.

Notes from 2018:"Dark, inky ruby color. Incredibly aromatic nose of blackberry liqueur, coffee, cigar box. Palate showing blackberry, blue fruits, cassis, chocolate, holiday spice, floral notes. Full bodied, long (30+) and layered finish. Chewy tannins still present..."

Consistent with those notes. Nicely aged at this point, great depth and nuance. Age has benefited this wine, a very big wine when purchased its settled in while preserving all the secondary fruits and length. Great stuff, one bottle left.

PS: I paid $125 for this at release, I thought it was too high at the time for Central Coast wine but bought it anyway. The winery visit often has me suspending normal price judgements...:) If the auction number on CT is to be believed, this can be purchased now for $63...at that price its well worth it!

  • My first of two bottles, so glad I waited to pop the first. Delicious from the very first sip, the wine evolves gracefully in the glass over several hours. I think it's peaking now but will wait a year before enjoying #2.

  • Wow! This wine is drinking so beautifully right now! The fruit really shows with hues from black to purple. So glad I saved this.
