  • Rich, elegant black fruit. A good dose of vanilla oak too. Then white pepper comes through on the finish. It takes the edge off the richness of fruit and oak. Very nice. I'd reinforce other comments about it filling out after a few days. I came back to it 3 days later in the WineArt, much more rounded than quick decant on day 1. Recommend long decant.

  • Super-perfumed nose: musk sticks, vanilla, oak, and black cherry. Medium-bodied palate with moderate tannins and strong acidity. Super-candied, perfumed flavours of blackberry, blueberry, violet, musk, pepper, and autumn leaves.

  • Drank over two days (starting 1/25, drank over 6 hours). Upon opening: medicinal and some chemical odors with a somewhat strange minty taste in the middle. After being open for about 4 hours, I got some earthy notes and some meaty syrah notes. Seemed to be altogether lacking in tannin to start, but gradually became a very drinkable syrah. On Day 2, this was much more interesting: the wine had put on some weight; the midpalate was fuller and there was a real finish (and the tannin had reappeared). My guess is that the drink dates listed here are way off. This bottle seemed quite closed and odd at first, but was almost a different (and more enjoyable) wine after a day being open.
