Community Tasting Notes (10) Avg Score: 92.6 points

  • Medium ruby/garnet, still quite youthful looking.
Smoky, earthy Hunter notes, leather, mulberry.
Cassis, boysenberry, red fruited on the palate, cherry.
Savory and fresh. Medium bodied, silky smooth, very fine tannins balance intense but delicate fruit.
Drinking beautifully but another 5 years should be no problem.

  • {screwcap, 13%} Plenty of bright garnet with no real evidence of aging. The nose is developing, with bright cherry and strawberry, with spice too. Light and a bit earthy. Palate is beautifully fruit driven, with medium acidity and an almost spritzy liveliness to it. Does have a little blood red character coming through with time. Low faintly gritty tannins. Not much oak evident. Still fresh and will age for an eternity longer. Vibrant and alive. Light/medium weight. Medium length finish. Quite impressive.

  • Very good, could do with a little more age. Not too peppery

  • Lovely mid weight elegant hunter red in a quintessential hunter burgundy style. Nothing forced or extracted, a winemaker who lets the soil and vine speak rather than his winemaking style or tricks. And much the better for it. Far better than a more expensive Briar Ridge Dairy Hill Shiraz from 2010 vintage. Well done. Still has lots of life in it due to its balance and lovely length.

  • The nose throws raspberries and a lovely streak of whole bunch steminess. You’d be forgiven for saying Pinot blind. There’s a suppleness and silkiness to the palate but the fruit has started to recede into the background. Generous, soft and approachable were how I described it.
