  • Amarillo. Nariz atractiva, golosa, expresiva, con recuerdos a ciruelas amarillas maduras, notas de miel ligera y algún apunte mineral. En boca tiene buen ataque, cierta sensación de dulcedumbre, paso fluido, notable frescura, reaparece el lado mineral, estructura media y notable persistencia.

  • Apples and slight floral nose. A splendid Riesling, with a nice acidity, and a nice saline finish. I wish I had more.

  • The first impression is of a huge fruity noise of apple. The palate is very creamy. Though it was labeled trocken, the fruity noise gave an impression of sweetness, but the acidity of the wine helped balance this impression.

  • WXTP Tasting IV - 2010 and 2011 German QbA Rieslings (Brad's Place): I did not like this that much. Saying that though, it was another wine that showed a very nice nose. A bit deeper and riper than the other 2011 wines, it displayed bold aromas of ripe apples, peaches and berries with a touch of warm earth and some white meat inflections at the edges. The palate reflected the nose - big, bold, very weighty for a QbA, it had mouthfilling flavours of ripe stone fruit seasoned with liberally amounts of stony mineral and toasty spice. Almost a halbtrocken in sweetness to my taste, and I thought this was a bit in-your-face, certainly lacking some of the lovely balance that the better wines in the line-up had. Finish was a bit mixed as well. It was very long and intense, with nice touches of tropical fruit and spice, but there was also a slight bitterness to it. This should improve with a few years in the bottle, but I am not entirely confident of that. On this showing, I would pay a little more and get the excellent Adam Hofberg Kabinett instead.

    (A.J. Adam Riesling Trocken) ($26.00) Only just bottled, and Andreas didn’t have the analysis back and couldn’t say whether it hit or exceeded the nine-gram limit for “Trocken,” so if you buy Adam estate-Riesling and the label says Halbtrocken, the wine’s the same. Whole-cluster pressed (which Andreas did in 2011 instead of acidifying), this is assertively dry (and done in steel), mineral and ferrous; recalls Dönnhoff ’s Tonschiefer, sleek and salty and lapidary – but you need to adapt to the snap.
