Garnet with a tinge of brick. Initially lots of savory herbs and mushrooms on the nose, more dark fruit as it breathed. This was elegant, mature - but not old, with subtle strawberry, red raspberry, orange rind, and savory notes that are just beautifully done. Ken Wright's Pinots do age well. I did not get any of the heat others have recently mentioned. Went well with Salmon. These are excellent young but also are interesting to keep and drink over time.

As others have said, great bouquet, good fruit, but a little too much heat. I was hoping for something a little more refined, but then again, this was only a $30 bottle.

At 10 years of age this wine is still fresh and lively on the palette with vibrant, dark red cherry, accented with baking spices the dominant flavors. But the alcohol still overshadows the finish just a bit too much.

The persistence of "heat" in the finish prevented me from rating this more highly, but the bouquet was the best in memory - baking spices, rhubarb pie, raspberries and other dark fruit.

Amazingly fresh for a near 20-year old wine. Certainly has the stuffing to last this long
Rich bouquet and strong cherry pie and red fruit - an absolute fruit bomb with many layers
Bravo - just 1 bottle left from 2004
