Better than expected. Aged fairly well. Initial nose is complex with definite fruit (maybe cherry) with some spice and smoke. Initial taste was extremely flat and thin...watery, almost no finish. Steadily improved over the next 2 hrs. allowing the mouth catch up with the nose (which unsurprisingly mellowed with time). After 2 hrs starts to get flatter again, not unpleasant, just thins out.

Pretty consistent with the other bottle. Still a touch of brett but not near like the other bottle. Serviceable as a cab. I had it with a tenderloin steak and used some of the wine in the pan sauce. Nice compliment with the steak.

Garnet red color, cherries and red fruit on the nose, slight vegetal, tannins still noticiably present. A little hot even though alcohol is only 14.5%. Not much on the mid palet, though a decent finish. A bit confused right now. A bit of time in the decanter helps. Also, having a nice juicy ribeye steak also takes away the bitter bite.
I'd say it is too early for this wine. Maybe another 3-5 years might bring out some of the secondary characteristics. This wine certainly has the structure to last that long and more. It's just a question of if this wine is worth waiting that long.
Coming back to this wine later in the evening and it has developed a band aid smell - can you say "brett"?

Nose had notes of smoke, chocolate, ink, and flowers. {forgot to note anything else}
