    (Hexamer Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg Riesling Trocken "#1") ($34.00) #1 in this case equates to “goldkap” or “reserve” (or to “XXL” as Harald called it a couple times.) He is justly proud of this. There’s complexity and regal carriage; sophisticated and aristocratic, and a foamy texture with finely intricate malic fruit. That said, for me there’s a sardonic snap I may overstate because I’m so weirdly sensitive to bitterness. Still, benefit of the doubt, because what’s good here is seriously good.
