  No problem getting the nose to show itself, even upon putting into the decanter this wine was singing the praises of significant wet earth, light vanilla, smoke, sweet red fruit chutney, touch of mint...on the palate this wine is as youthful as the nose and color indicate, really gorgeous purity of fruit, great acidity, firm structure - though not chunky, earthiness and a touch of minerality on the finish. This isn't ever about forward fruit, it is there in big quantity, but the sum of all the parts makes this wine quite fine. Balanced in every way, big in stature and many years ahead of it.
