Blackberry, cassis, Asian spice, straight laced California Cab. Very typical, very primary, and very California. Don't expect to encounter layers of complexity, but if you want a simple pleasure wine, then you will really enjoy it.

Thomas Fogarty Winery (Santa Cruz - Skyline): Stewed and lifeless. Tasted dirty and manure-ridden. And of course, had that signature thin and diluted Fogarty style to it. In the Pursuit of Balance gone completely awry. Totally disappointing.
Having this as the finale to a Signature Reserve Tasting (one that you pay for no less) was pretty insulting.

Very smooth with a dark cherry flavor. Well balanced but not as complex as hoped. Very well paired with steak!

Pencil shavings, leather, plum, cherry on the nose. Taste is full-bodies and delicious. Drinking well with or without food

Soft, velvety, luxurious, elegant. Nice acid structure. Pair delicately or have (as we did) as a cocktail wine. And then get some more!
