  • Second wine from this lot and also just off. Nise is awful. It doesn’t drink as badly as the nose would suggest but it’s definitely not good.

  • Well integrated wine. Fruit and earthmelded well creating a very balanced wine. Bricking was apparent and the nose showed the age of this wine. Probably past peak but drinking very well at this point.

  • Wine was off which is a bummer. Winebid purchase. Have another from the same lot so fingers crossed!

  • Medium tawny. Clean nose, medium intensity aromas of dried dark fruit (prune), oak (smoke, clove), spice (black pepper, liquorice), tertiary (leather, bacon, black olive). Fully developed. The palate is dry with high acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavours similar to the nose although the tertiary element is dominating.

Med+ finish. Very good quality. Drink up now. This was the most evolved of the three bottles I've had and I thought it initially it was way past its best but it opened up somewhat in the glass. However, the fruit is definitely fading, tertiary flavours dominate, and I'd say the acidity was more marked. Less balanced and elegant than before.

  • Clear, medium garnet, but pale brown rim. Clean nose, medium intensity aromas of dried and cooked dark fruits - damson, prune, oak (smoke, clove), floral (violet), spice (black pepper, liquorice), tertiary (leather, bacon, black olive). Fully developed. The palate is dry with high acidity, medium tannins, ripe and well integrated but still present, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavours similar to the nose that remain remarkably fresh. Very elegant. Long finish. Outstanding quality - depth, concentration and complexity, yet elegant with balancing acidity, and a long and persistent finish. Drinking well but I think this has lost some of the fruit concentration since I last tasted it three years ago. If you have any left, definitely drink up soon. You won’t gain anything by waiting - quite the opposite. I’ve marked it down a couple of points, but no doubt still outstanding wine.
