I agree withy tasting notes of over 3+ years. This Barbera shows varietal accuracy, but needs food !! The composite cork was saturated about 1/4 inch up after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Consumed at dinner with friends. This Barbera displays acidic dark fruit and had softened perfectly within an hour. Very dark ruby color with little to no oxidation, clarity good. Aromas of cherry, vanilla, licorice, and glycerin. Flavors of black cherry cola, fig, plum, and raspberry framboise. A medium to long finish on this flavorful Barbera. This age worthy wine has a few more years of life left and is tasting pretty good right now. Best consumed in < 12 hours. I still have a few in my cellar and will revisit soon to validate this tasting note.

I agree withy tasting note of over 2 years ago. Still the perfect pizza wine, this Barbera needs food !! The composite cork was saturated about half way up after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Consumed over two days. Popped and poured showing varietal accuracy. This Barbera started with acidic dark fruit on the first day and on day two the wine had softened almost too much near flabby dried fruit. The perfect pizza wine, this Barbera needs food !! The composite cork looked good after almost a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. Popped and poured showing varietally accurate acidic dark fruit on the first day and on day two the wine had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Very dark red color with no to no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of cherry, vanilla, licorice, and glycerin. Flavors of black cherry cola, fig, plum, and raspberry framboise. A medium to long finish on this flavorful Barbera. This age worthy wine has a few more years of life left and is tasting pretty good right now !!!!

Day 1 - Central Coast Tastings (Central Coast - CA): A beautiful Barbera from a single vineyard parcel in the Santa Ynez Valley. The tannins were pretty noticeable here, so some time is recommended. Already the red berries and smokey notes are showing quite well.

Central Coast Trip; 6/23/2013-6/26/2013 (Central Coast / Santa Barbara): The few Piedmontese Barbera's I've had were slightly more earthly/less sweet than this pair from Palmina but I liked these for what they were with a slight nod to the Walker Vineyard bottling. I don't see this improving dramatically.
