6 hour decant. Little to no fruit. Tannins rough and overwhelming. No pleasure here. One of the few wines that gives me a headache. Last of 5 bottles and all with a consistent tasting experience. Truely horrible considering the vintage. Avoid.

Wondering if this wine may be past its due date. Very tannic after a 4 hour decant with little to no fruit breaking through. Did not improve over the evening. This wine turned out to be a headache in a bottle. Have one bottle left , will try for a much longer decant.

Decanted 1 hour. Clear deep ruby with minimal bricking; nose is moderately aromatic, nice blend of black fruits, some savory spice, slight cedar and tobacco; palate is full bodied, smooth but youthful tannins, black fruits upfront that fade a tad through the midpalate, medium balanced alcohol, medium fresh acidity; finish is short but not clipped. An entry level bordeaux, but drinking well now with a decant, perfect for food, well balanced, and at $12-13 is a good value. Will last ~5 years but likely won't develop much more. 86

Improving with time, I imagine will continue to get better for a few more years still. A good QpR wine, pencil shavings, a little hot, could use more balance, but overall pretty good pairing for a steak on a weeknight.

The fruit has receded. If you are holding any, drink up! Still, great QPR, the last of a couple of cases. Thanks Costco!
