Decanted for 1 hour. Medium gold with a nose of citrus, grapefruit, with hints of jasmine and petrol. Dry with a hint of sweetness from the fruit. Apricot, grapefruit, pineapple, honey. Medium body, rich but clean. A step up from the Kabinett. Great balance between acidity and fruit.

Crisp, petroleum characteristic on the nose with luscious savouriness to the ginger, apricot, grapefruits, apple, citrus, pineapple flavours that glide over the palate. Full and rich on the finish, displaying note of honey and tarragon cream.

Seems little changed from my note 1.5 years ago. Noting a bit of a syrupy feel in the mid-palate that didn't bother me but emphasizes how ripe the spatlese fruit was.

a large-scaled 13.5% abv riesling that is a little "wobbly" -- the ripe fruit, saline minerals, and petrol note seem to take turns dominating each other without tasting like an integrated, balanced whole; the wine is better and less exuberant on second night, yet leaves the feeling that maybe the kabinett trocken is a better option from Kuntz (a great grower) in 2011

Really liked this. A little opulent with ripe fruit. Good minerality and body.
