A Friday Afternoon at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage, Chicago IL): Nose: There is a candied quality to the fruit with tones of tart red cherries, cola, dark red fruits, spices, plums, and some pine tones. There is good complexity, but it's lacking some depth.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium acidity. The feel is nice with well balanced tones of tart red cherries, cola, spice tones, and some pine tones.
Overall: This was a good pinot noir that is drinking at it's peak. There is good balance, but it's lacking some depth that would really make it.

Another Friday Afternoon @ Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): Everyone shrugs off Bergstrom as being too juicy and fruit forward...myself included. This might have been the best Bergstrom I've tried, and while the fruit was ripe and forward, I found it nicely balanced with some good acidity. Keith mentioned that given the vintage, this may not have much upside...so that's a fair warning. Thought this was tasting quite good.

First time I've dipped into one of my Bergstrom bottles in awhile. This one is defintely beginning to hit its stride... didn't enter notes immediately, so fuzzy on details, though it did have some initial funk on opening. About 20 mins later it had blown off, and nose was opening up. Raspberries, candied rose, sour cherry came to the front. Palate did have mixed red fruits and hint of pepper. Acid is still nicely present. I am tempted to open second bottle soon, as we enjoyed this now... but it could definitely mature for another couple of years. Color hasn't turned to brick tones yet.

Red cherry and blackberries on the nose and palate with white pepper and woody notes finishing with pleasant acidity.
