Heavy oak treatment, apparent on the nose and the palate. Large body, too large, the alcohol makes this very unbalanced. Kind of like sucking on a xmas tree. Pretty offensive, definitely not easy to drink, have to choke it down like 15%+ malolactic medicine. edit: the next day after some of the heat dissipated this was a lot better but still not good. I'll bump up my rating a couple of points.

Lite gold with medium viscosity in the glass. Nose of oak, lemon oil, sage and minerals. Medium body with the nose carrying onto the palate along with some pith, creme brûlée, tart tropical fruit and layered minerals. Good balance with a steady oak treatment. Medium finish.

Opened last night. Medium yellow. Glycerine legs. Nice fruit aroma, toast, with a bit of the old Burgundy barnyard funk, just enough to add to the interest level. Very nice in the mouth, well-balanced between fruit and acidity. Ripe tropical fruits, with cream, custard and a bit of banana. 4-11-17-8: 90/100.
