Light on the fruit and a bit acidic for my taste. I have always loved Clos de Betz and have many more in the cellar. I think this may have been a little past.

Final bottle from a 4 pack, originally purchased 2013. Consumed my last bottle 2.5 yrs ago. No formal TN today, other than a whiff of cork taint upon opening. Did not overtake the wine, and was still drinkable. But definitely pulled down the enjoyment meter. Otherwise, this wine has aged nicely, the tannins are rounding out well, and the finish persists, showing a well-made wine that paired well with ribeye this evening. Drink up.

Got this at an auction for less than 20 CHF. Drank over 2 days. On the first day a bit muted at first but got better with air with notes of caramel (!?). On day 2, tertiary notes started to appear, which didn't fit the wine well.

(Betz Family Winery Clos de Betz Red Wine Columbia Valley) An aromatically arresting wine with cassis, herbs, graphite, mineral, soil, floral notes, and blackberry. The palate has great intensity and weight and a firm grip of tannins leading to a hyperextended finish. A flat out gorgeous wine that has the stuffing to lay down in the cellar for many years to come. 58% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot. 51% Red Mountain (Ciel, Kiona, Klipsun), 19% Horse Heaven Hills (Alder Ridge), and 30% Yakima Valley (Red Willow). Aged in French oak (65% new).

PnP. Drinking well, but maybe a little tired. Consumed over two nights, definitely showed better on night one.
