Nice subtle nose even with air of quince, gooseberry and pear. The wine is medium to full bodied, full of flavour, a touch sweet, but a little short on the finish from what you would expect from a grand cru. Drinking well now and impressive for a tough vintage.

Tasted again next to 2010 Altenberg de Bergheim GC. Quite dark in colour, golden/yellow. On the nose notes of petrol, nuts, ripe and almost dried fruit, hints of honey. Quite sweet on the palate, spicy, with sufficient acidity and nice length. A little heavy and lacking energy. 89-91

Tasted next to 2010 Altenberg de Bergheim. Golden in colour, quite rich and sweet on the nose - exotic fruit, creaminess, slightly herbal, floral notes. On the palate off-dry, good acidity, very round and smooth, slightly mineral towards the finish. Drink or keep. 90-92

Drank in NYC Alsatian restaurant for D's birthday. Nose of petrol along with ripe pears. Solid core of acidity, along with ripe fruit and moderate sweetness up front. Off-dry finish. Good minerality here, acidity nicely offsets the moderate sweetness. Very nice finish. Lovely, if young wine.

Tasted at a grand wine festival. Made from Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Riesling.
Bouquet: Rich on exotic fruit and citrus.
Palate: Petroleum and oily. More structure and purity than fruit.
