If you like acidic, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, this is not the wine for you. The first thing to notice is the deep gold color of the wine, much more consistent with chardonnay than sauvignon blanc. On the nose, the classic lemon grass, green apple, and pear scents of sauvignon blanc appear. On the palate, creamy vanilla and oak dominante only to be washed away by a refreshingly acidic finish. This is an unusual sauvignon blanc made in the style of many California reserve chardonnays. An enjoyable bottle but not my favorite sauvignon blanc.

Anita House: W/M&D, S, w/skewer of shrimp, yellow bell pepper, shrooms, eggplant, squash--deliscious! Dark golden color; rich int. nose of honey, nuts, light caramel, lite funk of sweet overripe peach/melon; med.+ mouthfeel, still some a’s in there, smooth as silk, long fin. An exceptional wine, unusual for SB.

Light yellow in color. Nice, fothcoming nose of pineapples, tropical fruits, and creme brulee, mixed with spicy oak. Very thick on the palate, decent acidity. Obvious oak, perhaps too much, but it is very sweet oak. Over 14 % alcohol. Medium finish. More Chardonnay in profile than Sauvignon Blanc.
