Strong showing. Someone put a cork in this and didnt open it (dad?) but didnt pierce all the way through, so I figured it was time to get it open.
Has the ripe red fruit nose of 09 and is mostly primary, juicy, red fruit. Not at all overripe but has fruit for days. Slightly smoky undertone. Might be struggling for premier cru complexity at this point but it also wasnt priced like a premier cru.
Palate is rich and broad but retains just enough acidity. Mostly fruit. Again. No surprise. Finish lasts about 30 seconds. Had enough acid that I quickly wanted a second glass.
Was a pleasure to drink but probably could go another 10 years or so. I'll try another one in 5.

Shy but correct aroma of dry undergrowth, aromatic berries, and violets. On the palate a nicely centered dose of lightly sweet fruit with a nice bitter acidic lift at the back. This was lovely with an improvised meal of sausages and pickled beets wrapped in tortillas. 50 + 16 + 17 + 8 = 91.
