Lunch 2022.1 (Grappa Leichhardt): The 1995 also showed a bright mid depth gold colour and a developed nose in the stone fruits spectrum. The palate flavours were again of developed stone fruits with good concentration and depth. The acidity remained fresh and the finish was long. There was no drying out but there was some discussion about the palate beginning to fade slightly. I think Tom said this was second Remoissenet CC that he and Fred had imported and at nearly thirty years of age it still stands tall 18.5.

Last two bottles of this case. Remarkably these two bottles were delicious! Drank them with Duxbury Oysters on the half shell. Follow up by a course of fresh shelled lobster sauteed in butter with scallions. Magnifique! This is the food that Corton Charlemagne was made for! Have one more case left! Yeah!

Bottle seemed flat lacking character, thin, not characteristic of Corton Charlemagne. Will try another bottle soon to see if the whole case is like this

This wine is fading and it shouldn't be. Remoissenet had some problems with consistency in some of their wines. This is showing.
