  • Trying this for the first time. Sourced from my father's cellar where he purchased it upon release.
Decanted and enjoyed over 3 hours. A ton of sediment lining the bottle. Color is dark cherry with browning around the edges. As you'd expect, the nose is initially very much raisin, prune, stewed fruits with a bit of must that blows off quickly. After a half hour, other fruit...fresher red fruit flavors came through. Nice bit of acidity on the finish which is medium in length. Even tasting a bit of cola and forest floor. Get's more complex as the raisins recede. Reminds me of a '50s Burg. Enjoyable and a great example of what used to be in Cali before the Fruit Bomb epidemic.
