  • Nice wine, spicy with vanilia notes.

  • This Cuvée from Burgenland Region in eastern Austria consists out of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and St Laurent. It is realtivly bright, persumably due to the St. Laurent and has a very intensive red colour. The fragrance is dominated by typical Zweigelt smells like plum and a bit of chocolate. The taste reminds me of plums, liquorice, dark red fruits (typical for St Laurent, which is slightly related to Pinot Noir) and red current. All in all it is quite fruity and modern. Unfortunately the taste of a high alcohol percentage is noticeable (14%). The rather quick loss of taste and smell, once it is in the glas is also quite disturbing (after 15 min almost everything is gone, so don't decant it). I cannot exlpain this effect. This is a problem I had with some Gesellmann red wines from 2003.
