  • Translucent ruby red. Wonderful nose of earth and cherries. Plush on the palate, strawberries, cherries, moist earth. Fully resolved tannins. Brilliant, light acidity, fabulous balance. Finishes long and dark fruited. Nice minerality across the palate. Gorgeous wine and, at 24 years old, not fading. Black cherry notes develop with some time in glass. Drink next 5 years if you are lucky enough to still have any.

  • Dark red at core, becoming translucent as it moves to the rim. Strawberry and rhubarb aromas. Precise on the palate, cherries and strawberries, perhaps a bit faded but only a little. Fine tannins, lovely acidity, nice balance. Finishes long, long and spicy with strawberries and black cherries. Faded a bit but lovely. Probably past peak but better than most pinot noirs at peak. I'd drink over the next 2 to 3 years.

  • Ethereal, elegant, beautiful with fruit still intact. A true classic

  • Magnum bottle was in wonderful condition. Bright Cherries, cardamom, hint of currants, balance acidity, good structure, integrated tannins, youthful color with no bricking. A really youthful wine with no hint that it was 18 years old. Ready to drink, but clearly several years left before any hint of a decline. Very memorable.

  • Remarkable that this is still a viable and decidedly delicious bottle. 14 years down the line and one of Merry's earliest solo bottlings.
Deep dark color and a solid if just a bit fading complexity. To think the terrior of this is now under someone's house seems borderline criminal.
Likely this peaked a few years back; yet still displays the character and essence of the vineyard and the winemaker.
    Much respect.
