  • Reduction, Oak, Sexy, polished wine

Someone might criticize this wine for using too much Oak,
but they used Oak very attractively

The wine itself is very well made also
    (not heavy, rather delicate)

  • Dark cherries and fruit, smoke, oak, spices, and leather on the nose. Medium tannins with tart berries and fruit, as well as more oak on the palate. Medium finish. While it's a well made wine, this has seen far too much wood and doesn't taste like Pinot. Not my style.

  • Pop and pour...maybe needed a decant...strike that, definitely needed a decant. On the nose, charry oak, cherry liqueur, a touch of coconut, sweet strawberry. Oak dominant at the moment, but this seems to have the fruit to soak it up...flamboyantly styled, but still very sexy. On the palate, excellent verve with zippy acidity, sweet strawberry and Rainier cherry...great density and loads of fine tannin on the finish. We'll see how this is tomorrow.

Day 2: the coconut/toast is still pretty intense today, but behind it, there is some glorious Gevrey fruit. Maybe don't touch for a long time to let things integrate better. Revisit in 5+ years? Still excellent on the palate.

Day 3: Yes, now pure Gevrey goodness. Coconut in the background, just some pure pinot fruit with a hint of feral mixed with stems. Maybe even a hint of carbonic jolly rancher/bubble gum character. It is best tonight (and has been in the refrigerator overnight since opening).
