  • There seems to be a big diversity in opinions here which may indicate un-properly stord or handled wines. To me this was a nice mature bottle which reminded me of many other Ausi wines at a similar age. Not much secondary development, just a more subdued expression of ripe red fruit.
pleasant but not outstanding. Time to drink as i don't see advantage in further aging.

  • This so called Australian Chateueneuf du Pape (Shiraz, Mataro, Grenache blend or GSM blend as its known down under) was smooooth, silky, rich, and deep. Not at all like a traditional CdP, it tasted more like a nice Rhone blend albeit with great emphasis on the Syrah component of berry fruits, chocolate and a savory element mixed in. The 14.5% alcohol wasn't noticeable and the fruit, while ripe, maintained its balance throught. Definitely New World all the way, this big massive bruiser had calmed down and become a gentleman! Worth the wait!

  • I think this wine is old and tired. Drink up.

  • Very complex with a mix of meat and herbs, along with rich blackberry fruit. I found this very smooth, balanced and restrained.

  • Took this wine to a wine tasting with several friends who always bring top quality bottles. This was something of an experiment, comparing the low score given on cellar tracker and the high score given by Parker. The wine held up very well. It had structure, taste, and was big without being overpowering. It also seemed to show the ghostly invisible hand of an individual winemaker--see how one's imagination can run wild after sampling eight bottles.
