  • Just realized that it was my last bottle of this vintage, and of course it was the best one... Just now starting to be very nice, floral, red berries, nicely spiced. And on the palate very refined yet giving just right presence of fruits. In no way I would have guessed it was from this hot vintage if I would have tasted blind. Very enjoyable now~

  • Starting to wake up from its hibernation. Good nose of red fruits, spice and quite a bit of floral perfume. Not terribly complex but very enjoyable nevertheless. the tannin is starting to fade away and the texture is, if a bit simple, certainly very pleasant, medium body, rather high pitched, but sweet, somewhat dense and certainly cote of Beaune and for sure coudn't be anything else, but that. Quite long aftertaste for a basic premier cru. We've enjoyed rediscovering this cuvee.

  • A big disappointing indeed. A wine which promised to much upon tasting at the domain in 2005, this is not even ready to be enjoyed... very dark, very monolithic wine. It has the stuffing but so tightly wounded that it does not deliver, actually nothing at all. Some what good flavors of primary wines.... Will have to wait another few year!!

  • hum... as i've opened the nose was already very expressive, one hour in the decanter it was singing... but as the serving time came a couple of hours later, so total of 3 hours in the decanter, it had shut down completely. very disappointing and certainly will have to give another try later in the year...

  • A beautiful wine. Very dark color and matching rich aroma of super ripe red fruits. A very fine tannins and a surprisingly rich texture covers the palate to finish withfresh after taste. It is still way too young and isn't open yet, but coudn't recommed it enough especially for the price! around 25 Euros.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune Marconnets) This is a vineyard from the northern side of Beaune, according to Philippe often quite smokey in presentation - like Volnay Caillerets. Very forward fruit and quite high-toned for a 2003. The palate has a very ripe coulis of fruit, good tannins but not quite so sophisticated as the '03 Clos de la Mousse that preceded it. A good, mouthwatering and very long finish - just a little raisin fruit on the end.
