Color: Light, clear cherry in the center, fading to brick at the edge.
Nose: A bit shy, with understated red pinot fruit aromas of raspberry and cherry underlaid by a slightly stemmy note of soil. It has a nice spicy, floral side to it, though, and is elegant if not highly expressive.
Mouthfeel: Light and lean
Palate: Definitely reveals that it comes from less sun-privileged terroir in a less sun-priveleged vintage in its bright, lean flavor profile, showing lots of acid, a tart cranberry fruit character, and a touch of greenness. The finish is also a bit hard but gives an interesting dusting of dark chocolate. Clean and pure, with good intensity for its weight.
