Another very strong performance from an overachiever. Still youthful, a large, broad mouthful of almost Christmas cake like flavours with fine raspberry second wave that gives it a long, crisp finish. Perfect on a winter evening.

Very dark and thick colour. Quite an intense nose of Christmas cake, with a touch of liquorice and menthol. In the mouth, it was thick and viscous, but after an hour in the glass, the finish lightened and brightened considerably. Rich and deep notes of grenadine and spice, with a second wave of sugary raspberry sherbet, then a quite a long finish. Much better than 90% of 03 Bordeaux, especially at this price level. This will peak in two or three years and probably hold for ten.

Decanted for two hours. Great wine. Great suprise. Thick wine, low acid.Still firm gripping tannins. Little chocolate, port.... Seems a nice Saint Emilion to me (strange isn't it?). However... great performance.

Mouth puckering tannin at first, but after an hour or so the fruit emerges to balance it out.
