High notes of black berry bush, lemon and cedar, followed by green pepper/vegetal note and alcohol. The wine is light to medium weight with light fine tannins, strong acidity and odd metallic taste that blew off after an hour. Hard to detect flavor profile as acid seemed to dominate. Finish is short with palate cleansing acid. Consumed with grilled beef, garlic bread and roasted beets. Alcohol at 13% is well integrated on the palate but noticeable on the nose. Purchased from retail store and consumed same day at 60-65, Drink now… Na zdrowie

Medium purple in color, this wine revealed primary notes of damp earth and mud on the nose with subtle hints of blackberry jam. The mouth feel was moderately heavy but brought little fruit. The finish was short and considerably harsh, with a soapy, astringent element to it that was very offputting.
Even at $10US, this was a wine I'd never purchase again. I've enjoyed a great deal of the different Yalumba offerings over the years and the Y Series has always represented great value to me. The higher level, Hand Picked Yalumba/Shiraz offering in older vintages was one I gladly served BTG in 2006/2007 at the wine bar I founded in 2005. This offering was a poor concoction of nothing Shiraz like and painful to drink.

Decent wine, peppery smell with blackberry compote and bitter earth taste. Some length on the finish which is smooth.
