Some Ports, mostly Martinez (Roy's): nose: drippy red fruit palate: a little barnyardy at first, this was very fruit-driven, with a long finish and hefty tannin. obiscoito's note is pretty spot on, for me. Delicious. of the 3 in this flight, I liked this best, though it was a toss up between the 2003 and the 2000 Martinez VP.

Tasted at the Cockburn Port Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia - - Dark! No rim! Fascinating nose – real complexity. Huge mid-palate on this wine! Grip! Tannic, but the tannins are very fine. Really well made. Best Vintage Port so far. Wonderful!! 93 points.

Melon, berry, earth, minerals and prune on the nose. Softer tannin, with a high acid. The palate is of Raisin, date, anise, and cherry. 3/5
