Incredible nose... First, there was some kind of cheesy thing going on which had me locked into a white burgundy. There were oily and a really sappy tree aromas, awesome. The wine was medium plus in weight which caused even more problems for me. Lime peel, lemon curd and a stony quality. What the heck is this stuff? Very complex and tropical fruit dominated finish. This may have been WOTN for me.

Poured blind. Aromatically, this came off like a CA wine, something Napa-like with a pretty intense but sexy aromatic of toast and light coconut...the signature of French oak to me. The taste though made me stop and think. Lots of pineapple and slate early on, which then changed to more a lemony fruit profile with air, along with some of the same toast in the palate. Medium weight, no glycerine and just a very nice wine. Aside from the new oak, which I assume will fade more with time, this wine is built well and quite good.
