Clean, but not very crisp. Some lemon and a sheen of a citrus. Not too sweet and very mellow...lacking in a "cheap" taste. A powdery aftertaste. Not too bad.

I'm giving this one a higher score than the 2010, which I thought was a little bitter on the finish. When the Robert Mondavi Private Selection wines are "on" they are very good. This one is very good. Pouring into the glass I smelled banana and guava, which was a very good start. Rich golden color. Expressive, floral and citrus nose, with pear, honeysuckle, and pineapple along with the banana and guava. When I read they included Pinot Blanc and Gewurztraminer, it was easy to pick out the enhancing characteristics those varietals bring to the blend. It is considerably thicker in the mouth than typical for Pinot Grigio. Young, fresh, and easy drinking. I think I taste some added tartaric acid which is a little bitter on the rather short finish, and cost it another point. But still this is an excellent wine for 5PM happy hour. Also, any type of food would help that finish along.

Sharp fruity smell with subtle lemongrass tone. Tastes sharp, clean, refreshing but not too sweet. Just enough tartness.

Zesty lemon aromas and flavors. A bit of tropical fruit in the midpalate, but it retains a nice balance between bitter and sweet.
