Taste of Tasmania 12/13 (Hobart, Tasmania): {screwcap, A$26} Somewhat old-fashioned chardonnay nose of smoky oak, leesy tones and malo-like aromas. It’s dry, medium-bodied and has a crunchy, mineral/earth like aspect to the texture. The acid seems up to the task of keeping the oak and richness under control, but I think this’ll be best early.
