  • Aromas of Black cherry, cinnamon, mushroom and earth. Lot going on with the nose. Flavors of cherry, strawberry, earth, mushroom and herb. Ends with a dark fruit finish of 30+ seconds. Trends morenew world than old.

  • Decanted around 4 pm and drunk from 5-8pm. Wonderfully warm, rich and masculine Burgundy, with a medium to dark, mostly translucent ruby color. This wine is quite layered and youthful with good tannic structure and great balance. Less earthy and more minerally than the Corton Renardes we had with it. A superb match with the braised squirrel with chanterelles and polenta. The wine had lots of smokey bacon and meat, dark red fruit, wet stones and a touch of graphite on the finish. Deep and textured with almost a light Ste. Emilion mouth feel. Very enjoyable!

  • Deep ruby/maroon with a clear rim. Subdued aromas of cherry strawberry preserves and mineral. After some time opened up in bottle, this became highly mineral inflected and held some nice grip on the finish. The flavors are more harmonious than profound. Red fruited gelatin warming and melting in the mouth is the best way I can describe the supple texture and flavor. A very nice ripe Beaune with mineral character certainly reflective of its terroir but not as deep, earthy and profound as wines from the north. Still, highly enjoyable.
