  • Cherry but not remarkable. Big for a PS. Won't be buying another. Drink for a non special occasion with food
There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry.

  • Got this bottle in February 2013 from the on-line wine clearing house WinesTilSoldOut (wtso.com) (bought four bottles for $12.99 a bottle).
This wine pours practically black (not too surprising for a 100% Petite Sirah). Bouquet-wise, there’s pretty floral elements, along with suggestions of herbs/spices and a tiny bit of oak and earth.
This is a nice, rich, creamy, spicy, fruity P.S. There’s an abundance of black fruit up front, like plums, black cherries, and blackberries. There’s almost as much herbs and spices as there is fruit in the flavor profile; this is one spicy wine!!! TONS of black pepper leads-off the spice/herb profile, followed by dried, savory herbs like tarragon, rosemary, with slight hints/suggestions of sage as well.
Despite its 14.7% alcohol content, this is a well-balanced Paso red, exhibiting nice, sweet, easy-on-the-palate tannins, perfect acidity, slight/behind-the-scenes oakiness, a nice earthiness, with a VERY smooth, lingering finish. This is one of the best 100% Petite Sirahs I’ve had out of Paso Robles. If I knew how good it would be, I would have ordered an entire case of this beauty, especially at $12.99 a bottle.
I paired this wine with hamburgers with TONS of slightly-curried onions and mushrooms. This wine paired beautifully with the burgers and would also pair well with just about any/all red meat dishes (especially a ribeye steak smothered in tons of black pepper and an appropriate amount of Kosher salt).

  • AGM
There's nothing that really sticks out about this wine. I kept coming back to it after giving it a rest during the night to find something that I could I really identify wt. hints of vanilla, cherry, spice, mocha, but not enough of one thing to give it character. Wouldn't buy again.

  • Subdued nose of blackberry. Soft entrance of slightly bitter blackberry. Smooth on the palate with well-integrated, soft and slightly dusty tannins. Medium body and length. Low to moderate acidity. Overall a well-integrated and balanced wine without much additional complexity or character. Drinking well right now and not likely to improve overly much with age.

  • This wine had little individuality - it was ok on the nose and the palate but no defining characteristics that made you want to stop and take time to explore. I'll try another in a couple of months to see if I feel the same way.
