Fully developed now and is drinking beautiful although like all Bass Phillip, it needs air so decanting is essential.
A full body pinot, it has lost much of its youth and is very happy in its mid-life. Savoury, dusty and dark cherry nose, the body follows more or less the same line. Well weighted however, it has both the breadth and depth that you would expect from an excellent pinot. Still a fair bit acid left suggesting a few more years to go if required. While it was an excellent wine, it lacked some of the ethereal characteristics one would like to see and I am not sure they are going to emerge.
Drink now or 4+ years.

What I like about this wine is the amount of flavour this wine achieves on such a light body. Fantastic complexity, too. Dusty, mulchy, barnyard and sour red fruit nose. Slightly fizzy acidity. Intense, yet not overwhelming flavours. Long, slightly acidic that builds in complexity, all of the above featuring. Very Burgundian (better 1er Cru-level.) A joy to drink, match with food or cellar for, maybe, a decade. Great!

Typical sour Bass Phillip pinot. Even more concentration and body than the lower pinots. Excellent fruit, too. This is nearly as good as the 2 top level pinots. Especially for the price.

Good acidity. A bit of a sweet/sour palate. Very concentrated on the finish.
