This is a light Cotes du Rhone. Perfectly fine with a Beef Bourguignonne. Fruity, fresh, little length or aftertaste. This was a Tesco Finest. For similar price, go for the Costieres de Nimes from Sainsburys instead, which was a more rounded and enjoyable mouthful. Also, some experts recommend drinking these youthful burgundies like Beaujolais slightly chilled. Don't. They need to breathe a bit just like any beefier red wine. Serve it at room temperature to get the bouquet and sense of what it should really be like.
