  • Well made, good length but more savoury than anticipated, the 2010 was a lot more fruit forward.

  • Fresher than last time, which faded faster than expected. More vibrant colour than I remember too, surprising bottle variation from the same carton.

Blackcurrant and and tart plum prominent. Hints of greenness, maybe eucalypt. Some earthy spice notes linger late.

Based on this bottle I'd say years to go but the last one suggested drink now, what to do? 😄

  • Opened nicely and improved with about an hour in the decanter. Powdery soft tannins and acidity still present but softened and in the background. I don't think it's about to die but I think it's plateaued and is in it's drinking window.

Light-medium bodied and sweet blueberry and blackberry fruit, real "right bank" character. Real elegance compared to the ubiquitous Marg River Cab, not better but a nice alternative with a point of difference.

  • Medium garnet with pronounced fading out from the core.
Leathery aged characters have appeared, joining the more youthful black cherry, blackcurrant, cranberry and leafy herbaceousness on the medium(+) intensity nose.
On the one hand steeped in rich, mouth filling black fruit flavours, while also retaining elegance and finesse. It's medium bodied flavours are supported by firm tannins and chocolaty oak.The finish is particularly impressive, with dark fruits, charry oak and dark chocolate lingering for many seconds.
Predominately Cabernet Franc with smaller inputs from Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon in decending order.
Don't be fooled by the ageing appearance, the palate has lively acidity while the alcohol is in check.
This is a high quality wine, with everything in harmony and balance. I found this to be beautifully detailed and expressive at the moment, but has what it takes to comfortably see out another decade (at least).

  • 92 or better. A medium bodied “savoury” delight. With GGCCC.
