  • I think this is starting its downward slide. Slight oxidized note. Still, everyone seemed to like this so perhaps I'm being a little overly critical. Dark red fruits, ok mouthfeel and ok finish. Nose was also mostly dark red fruits with a hit of oxidation. All in all it has aged well but I think if you have any, drink up.

  • Classic PN that is in a beautiful drinking window right now.

  • This was a fine table wine. Perfectly adequate, but on the thin side with nothing of note.

  • 2 hour slow ox. Well we decided to open this beauty to celebrate my new job and it did not disappoint. Nose: Complex aromas of blood orange, sweet red berries and minerals. Early on there was lots of Burg funk and a meaty, saline, ferral/sauvage quality that was super cool and exemplified classic Burgundy style. At times grilled watermelon made its presence known. Just an unreal nose!! Palate: Still very youthful coloration (no way would one assume a 12 year old Burg) with still very present yet balanced acids and soft tannins. Spice and minerals abound in a push pull match between each other finishing w/ minerals. Dark cherry is the predominate fruit although raspberry also shows. Finish is suave and elegant but the wine retained a muscular aspect throughout allowing it to stand up to marinated chicken and dry rubbed beef kabobs.

Perhaps what really put me over the top were the dychotomous aspects of the wine (showing one attribute and the next minute showing an inverse aspect...the mark of a great wine IMO). Glad I waited the 8 years from my last one to open this and even more glad I have one more left. Bravo!!

  • Let it sit for 1hr after popping. This one lived up to the expectations the end of my last bottle had promised- drinking absolutely beautifully right now with the air time. Has a fabulous balance of ripe fruit and secondary layers.
