The Italian soil on these Bordeaux varietals is very present. Other than the heavier body, this tasted more like a sangiovese than a syrah/cab/petite verdot. It lacked the complexity that you would expect from this blend. It did just fine right out of the bottle, and peaked after about 30min in decant.

Tasting more of the Cabernet than Syrah. Notes of cassis, cedar, pencil shavings, and tobacco. This is a full bodied wine with a medium to long finish. Tannin structure is still good so this wine will age a while longer. Very well balanced for a 14% alcohol wine. No hint of being hot whatsoever

Old world dust and complexity. Currents. Raisen, blueberries. Hint of chocolate pears and tar. Nice and should age.
