Wow. What a lively, expressive wine that paired perfectly with Korean short ribs. It opened w/bright, even sweet red fruit with some Luden's properties. After a little air, the fruit darkened and an earthy, umami richness balanced it out. Hints of Negroni bitterness as well. Complexity abounds and I'm thinking this little bottle has a lot of life left in it.

Very enjoyable. No formal notes, but there was great complexity here. Lots of fruit and savory flavors blended very well on the nose and palate. If you've got one of these, now is a great time to check one out. I wish I had another!

My guess is this should be held for a year or so. At present, a touch disorganized which comes across as thin. I think it needs a year or so to settle in. Dark ruby but presents in a lighter elegant style, showing cherry, raspberry and strawberry. Medium finish.

First night I wasn't impressed. Big hole in the palate, a bit astringent and thin.
However, a night on the counter really did wonders. Fleshed it out, brought solid pinot flavors to the front (pine, red fruits). Moderate acidity, nice texture.
Very solid wine, but definitely needs some time to unfurl.

Drank over two nights, with and without food. Medium ruby garnet color. Thick but fast legs. Nose is very pungent with musky earth and a little oak in the background. Initial palate shows decent concentration, with orange zest and caramel. Not much depth (it's sorta a one-note wine). Plenty of acidity. The flavors fade on the mid palate - not much length. Given the miserable summer in the valley in 2011, this is a well-made wine (very reminiscent of 2007), but it's not a blockbuster.

(Walter Scott Pinot Noir Dumb Ox) Dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; appealing, roses, cherry nose; tasty, roses, cherry, ripe raspberry palate; medium-plus finish (from own rooted Pommard clone planted in 1995)
